Rumiko Takahashi first pulled me into the world of manga 漫画 with Ranma 1/2 and then with InuYasha. I progressed to her sensei’s – Kazuo Koike works – Crying Freeman. (translated in English though)
My very first full series anime was Rurouni Kenshin – the Battousai. It is only natural that this anime series has left a deep impression on me. I judge other samurai animes against this and most don’t come close to making the cut, except maybe Samurai Deeper Kyou.
It’s only in the pass few years that we have finally turned off the English dub to hear the actual Japanese versions. Thanks to that, I’m slowly picking up another language – although it seems as though it is harder with age.
