13 episodes plus a movie in May 2009.

Kannagi: Crazy shrine maidens is about Jin Mikuriya who accidentally summons a goddess from a sacred tree. Jin inadvertently brings the goddess to life by carving a sculpture of a woman from the tree, and lo and behold Kannagi (Nagi) is born. Nagi then proceeds to proclaim that since she needs Jin’s aid in cleansing impurities, she has to stay close to him.  Her twin sister Zange then appears (seemingly with her tree still intact) and together, they wreck havoc to Jin’s life.

Nagi and Jin are constantly fighting but this love/hate relationship leads us to the end where he shows his trust in her by finally believing that she truly is a god.
